Task
Treatment of river water for further use as cooling water, process water and boiler feed water with softening and silica removal.
Design data
Preparation quantity:
- 295 m³/h
- 1 x 1300 gpm clarification
Target parameters:
- Softening and silica removal
- Suitable for process water
Solution & implementation
We successfully use our ALMA BHU LHPS process to recover process water from river water. In a carefully designed process, the dissolved wastewater constituents are effectively removed, with neutralization precipitation and coagulation leading to the formation of large sludge flocs. These sludge flocs, together with other particulate matter, are successfully separated in the high-performance lamella separator.
Due to the use of this extracted process water in cooling circuits and as boiler feed water, softening and removal of silicates is necessary. This step is carried out by adding magnesium oxide and sodium carbonate as part of our ALMA BHU LHPS process.
