Task
The Schultheis pond in Offenbach has shown clear signs of eutrophication since 2005 due to an increase in the phosphorus concentration in the water. This has led to increased growth of blue-green algae and an impairment of the ecological balance.
As a countermeasure, the city of Offenbach planned the construction of a water treatment plant. Our responsibility lay in the construction of a containerized dissolved air flotation plant and the subsequent operational management, with the aim of reducing the phosphorus concentration in the Schultheis pond.
Design data
Preparation quantity:
- 30m3/h
Target parameters
- Phosphorus elimination > 70 %
Solution & implementation
A high-quality ALMA NeoDAF HDED in stainless steel was designed to effectively achieve the desired target parameters. This flotation system is equipped with an ALMA FLOC M dosing station. A combination product of neutralizing agent and flocculant based on aluminium is used for targeted phosphorus elimination.
We use the NeoDaf bubble booster system developed by us to efficiently saturate the water with air. The resulting flotate sludge is removed from the flotation cell by a scraper. The sludge tank is disposed of once a week by collection.
