Task
CIBA Vision GmbH is part of the Alcon Group and world market leader in the field of ophthalmic chiropractic products, contact lenses and care products for contact lenses. One hundred million contact lenses are produced annually at the production and research site in Großwallstadt.
Our task included the production of demineralized water and the mixing of H2O2, including the supply through a ring main. The system was installed in a technical room container(ALMA MODUL).
Solution & implementation
In the first treatment step, the city water is treated by our ALMA OSMO VE.
Once the pure water has been produced, a concentrated H2O2 solution is precisely dosed. The entire process is controlled by our specially developed ALMA Vision software.
Process steps:
- Softening of the city water:
- In the first process step, the city water is softened using ion exchangers(ALMA ION). The resins bind the dissolved calcium and magnesium ions. This protects the reverse osmosis membrane from deposits (scaling) and thus extends the service life of the membrane.
2. reverse osmosis treatment:
- The softened water enters our ALMA OSMO VE reverse osmosis system, where the remaining dissolved ions are removed from the wastewater.
3.H2O2 dosing:
- In the final process step, a defined quantity of H2O2 is added to achieve the target concentration that can be set on the control unit.
The entire system technology is installed in a technical room container(ALMA MODUL).
