Task
A leading manufacturer of cosmetic products and cleaning agents relies on innovative wastewater treatment technologies to meet the highest environmental standards. The company produces facial and body care products and household cleaners, among other things, and attaches great importance to sustainable production processes.
In line with its commitment to environmental protection and compliance with legal regulations, the manufacturer has made targeted investments in modern wastewater treatment systems. These make it possible to treat the wastewater so that it reaches a pH-neutral state before being discharged into the public sewer system.
Design data
Preparation quantity:
- 60m3/d
Target parameters:
- Neutralization of waste water to a pH value between 6.5 - 9
Solution & implementation
First, it is fed into an underground storage tank with a capacity of 40 m³, where it is circulated by a dry pump for equalization.
The level-controlled discharge of the wastewater takes place via an above-ground double pumping station. Meanwhile, relevant parameters such as flow rate, pH value and temperature are precisely measured and automatically logged within the measuring section. If required, neutralization chemicals(ALMA Neutra) are automatically dosed. The dosing devices are mounted on a console and commercially available IBC stations are used for dosing(ALMA FLOC dosing station).
After neutralization, the pH-monitored and neutralized wastewater flows into the wastewater sewer.
The entire automation of the process sequence is based on a programmable logic controller that is integrated in the Siemens TIA portal.
