An ALMA CHEM MCW CP batch plant was successfully commissioned in Leipzig. It treats around 20 m³ of specialty chemicals wastewater per week and reliably removes heavy metals, AOX, hydrocarbons and chromium(VI). Precipitation, flocculation, neutralization, chamber filter press, gravel filter and ion exchanger ensure compliance with the limit values in Annex 40.
A modern ALMA BHU EGSB reactor in stainless steel construction was successfully commissioned at a leading bioethanol producer. The two-stage reactor (680 m³, 24 m high, 6 m diameter) is designed for a load of 10,000 kg COD/day and mainly treats vapor condensates and mixed wastewater from production. Thanks to the innovative 3-phase separator with round gas collection system, the plant operates stably, without clogging and without foaming - and at the same time produces valuable biogas for the energy supply.
This year's company outing took the ALMAWATECH team to Endress+Hauser Liquid Analysis in Gerlingen. There we gained exciting insights into the latest developments in measurement technology and were able to experience first-hand how modern analysis systems are created during a factory tour. The replacement of reverse osmosis membranes in a river water treatment plant revealed that sand and gravel had irreversibly damaged the membranes. The case illustrates how crucial robust pre-treatment is in order to ensure operational safety, cost-effectiveness and a long service life.
Neutralization systems are indispensable components in industrial wastewater treatment. They ensure that acidic or alkaline wastewater is reliably adjusted to a permissible pH range, thus guaranteeing both legal limits and the protection of downstream processes.
