As of August 1, 2026, we are pleased to welcome Maurice Korb as a new apprentice at ALMAWATECH. Maurice is beginning his apprenticeship with us as a technical product designer specializing in mechanical and plant engineering, and will thus be a valuable addition to our design and project management teams in the future.
ALMAWATECH isn’t entirely new to him. During a one-week internship over the fall break, Maurice was already able to gain his first insights into our company, our work processes, and industrial plant engineering. After successfully completing his secondary school diploma, he is now taking the next step in his professional career with us.

Training directly related to plant engineering
As a technical product designer, Maurice will spend the coming years learning how to translate technical ideas and process engineering concepts into designs. This includes, among other things, creating technical drawings and 3D models, developing assemblies and components, and preparing manufacturing and assembly documentation.
The design team works closely with the process engineering, project management, electrical engineering, and manufacturing departments.
This work is particularly versatile, especially in the field of industrial water and wastewater technology. Our systems are custom-designed to meet our customers’ specific requirements. These include, for example , solutions for flotation, physicochemical wastewater treatment, biological treatment, filtration, membrane technology, and water reuse.
This gives Maurice the opportunity, even while he is still in training, to participate in real-world industrial projects and learn, step by step, how an initial technical idea develops into a fully planned and ultimately built facility.
Support from experienced colleagues
During his training, Maurice will be mentored in particular by Dirk Waddenberg. Dirk holds a Master of Engineering degree and is an experienced design engineer in our project management department; he has extensive experience in the technical implementation of our plant engineering projects.
This year, Dirk also successfully earned his instructor certification. He is now officially responsible for training our next generation of technical professionals and looks forward to passing on his expertise and experience from numerous projects to the next generation.
It is particularly important to us to link theoretical training content as closely as possible to day-to-day practice.

For ALMAWATECH, training young professionals is a key component of the company’s long-term development.
The demands placed on industrial water and wastewater technology are constantly increasing. Issues such as resource efficiency, water reuse, automation, and sustainable water use are becoming increasingly important for industrial companies. To continue developing innovative and reliable solutions in this area in the future, we need well-trained employees with technical expertise and practical experience.
Through our in-house training program, we aim to pass on this knowledge for the long term while also offering young people the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.
