A flocculation plant is a technical device for carrying out the flocculation process. In this plant, flocculants are added to aggregate the smallest suspended solids or impurities in the water into flocs, which can then be removed by sedimentation, flotation or filtration. Flocculation plants are often part of sewage treatment plants or drinking water treatment plants and play an important role in the removal of turbidity, organic compounds and heavy metals. One example is the flocculation plant in a sewage treatment plant, which is used before sedimentation to improve the purification performance.
