Task
Treatment of surface water from various sources to produce water for feeding into the drinking water network. Adjustment of the pH value using milk of lime.
Design data
Preparation quantity:
- 3,333 m³/h
Target parameters:
- Parameters for discharge into the public drinking water network
Solution & implementation
An efficient combination of our ALMA BHU LHPS and ALMA BHU MMF processes was installed to produce purified water for the drinking water network.
The first step of the process involves the targeted precipitation and flocculation of the dissolved wastewater constituents using our ALMA BHU LHPS process. An outstanding feature of this process in connection with drinking water treatment is the use of milk of lime for precise pH value regulation. At the end of this first treatment stage, the resulting sludge flocs are separated using a high-performance lamella separator.
The second treatment step involves depth filtration / multi-media filtration using different types of sand(ALMA BHU MMF). The filter area extends over 8 x 56 m2 and ensures efficient purification of the water.
