- Drinking water quality
Solution & implementation
We successfully use our ALMA BiosS-Treat process to obtain process water, boiler feed water and cooling water of drinking water quality from river water. This process is an innovative combination of precipitation & flocculation, biological filtration, reverse osmosis and ion exchange to ensure the highest water quality.
In the first step of the process, the dissolved substances are converted into particulate sludge flocs through precipitation and flocculation. These sludge flocs are effectively separated in our high-performance lamella separator, equipped with specially developed honeycomb-shaped lamellas(ALMA BHU LHPS).
The second process step involves biologically activated filtration to remove the remaining organic substances. This measure reduces biofouling on the reverse osmosis membranes in the third step of the process. This not only reduces operating costs, but also significantly increases the longevity of the reverse osmosis system(ALMA BiosS-Treat).
