Reference Project – Wastewater Treatment at Original Sacher Torten Manufaktur GmbH
The Brand Original Sacher Torten Manufaktur GmbH has stood for the highest quality, Viennese tradition, and artisanal perfection for generations. As a world-renowned traditional company, Sacher has combined excellent pastry-making with a spirit of innovation and sustainable practices for over 180 years—values that are also reflected in modern production processes.
As part of the ongoing development of the production infrastructure, a high-performance yet sustainable solution was needed to treat the resulting production wastewater.
Task
Design, delivery, and commissioning of a compact, turnkey flotation plant for treating wastewater from the production of high-quality baked goods.
Particular emphasis was placed on:
- a space-saving design
- quick installation and commissioning
- high operational reliability
- as well as resource-efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment
Solution & implementation
We used our ALMA NeoDAF in the ALMA module —a fully pre-assembled, compact flotation system designed as a plug-and-play solution.
The facility was:
- delivered fully assembled
- set up on site in no time
- and put into operation as soon as possible
Thanks to its modular design, the system could be integrated into the existing infrastructure efficiently and without the need for extensive construction work.
Sustainability & Efficiency
A key focus of this project was on the system's sustainable design. The ALMA NeoDAF stands out for:
- reduced chemical use through optimized dosing strategies
- energy-efficient operation through intelligent process control
- minimized sludge production
- as well as high separation efficiency combined with low resource consumption
As a result, the facility makes an important contribution to environmentally friendly and sustainable wastewater treatment in food production.
Technical Highlights of the ALMA NeoDAF
- Efficient flotation technology for the safe removal of fats, oils, and organic compounds
- Inline flocculation system for optimal floc formation
- Uniform air distribution for stable process conditions
- Compact design in the ALMA module for a minimal footprint
- Pre-assembled system for maximum time savings during installation and commissioning
Conclusion
The implementation of this project has resulted in a high-performance, sustainable, and compact wastewater treatment solution at Sacher that meets both environmental and economic requirements.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Original Sacher Torten Manufaktur GmbH for the productive and very pleasant collaboration, and we look forward to supporting this long-established company in implementing sustainable solutions.
