ALMA NeoDAF Control
More than 20 % savings in operating costs by combining our bubble booster technology with online COD measurement technology and integrated ALMAControl software.
As a follow-up to the BMWF-funded development of our ALMA NeoDAF dissolved air flotation system, we have now developed a patent-pending measurement and control system and integrated it into our ALMA NeoDAF. The system measures water pollution online and regulates dosing quantities using various measured variables such as throughput, pH or COD. In addition, there is the controlled bubble booster system for adjusted air volumes. 20 to 30% savings in consumables and energy are the result of the new measurement and control technology.

ALMA Chem MCW
ALMA Chem MCW was developed in 2022 and 2023 on the basis of many years of experience with chemical-physical water and wastewater treatment. The development project received funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the ZIM program, which made it possible to comprehensively expand the existing foundations and innovatively purify wastewater containing heavy metals. The original focus of the project was on wastewater from mines. However, it is equally suitable for use in all other areas of wastewater containing heavy metals, such as metal, electronics, battery production, flue gas scrubbing, metallurgy and electroplating, recycling, etc.
The process is based on two-stage precipitation in a batch or continuous process, followed by filtration and, if necessary, selective ion exchange. The reduction of heavy metals is essentially based on simultaneous precipitation, a precipitating agent based on metal salt and an additional product containing sulphite, which is only required in small quantities. The multi-stage process makes it possible to achieve very low limit values for heavy metals, even in water with organic background contamination, as is usually the case in practice.
The technical system design is modular and can be implemented either in the ALMA module concept (container design) or in-house (tank design). We are delighted to have completed the project extremely successfully and are now able to offer our customers two new innovative products.
The first systems in the series were successfully commissioned and tested at the end of 2023 and in the course of 2024. Further systems are currently being developed and will be realized in 2024 and 2025. These include a modular version of the ALMA CHEM MCW, installed in a double-decker container.

ALMA BHU OXI Fenton
Wet chemical oxidation proves to be the ideal solution when it comes to eliminating toxic or poorly degradable organic compounds. Ozone is an effective choice for high volume flows and low concentrations. For lower volume flows in the range of 2 to 10 m³/h and up to 50 g/l COD (chemical oxygen demand), a Fenton-based approach can be used successfully.
In situations where biological processes are restricted by organic water constituents, whether due to toxic behavior, extreme persistence or high salt concentrations that prevent biodegradation, the ALMA BHU OXI process offers an effective solution.
The ALMA BHU OXI Fenton process effectively eliminates poorly degradable substances by adding iron(II) sulphate and hydrogen peroxide in a two-stage, mixed reactor. The addition of iron(II) sulphate in a defined pH range leads to the formation of highly reactive hydroxyl radicals from the hydrogen peroxide. These radicals oxidize substances that are difficult to biodegrade and bind them in a sludge floc.
The two-stage design of the reactor increases the conversion of the iron(II) sulphate and thus makes it possible to save on consumables.
Our ALMA BHU OXI Fenton reduces the COD concentration by more than 75 % at initial concentrations of up to 50,000 mg/l.
Effective reduction of polycyclic compounds such as PFAS and PAHs, organic complexing agents, drug residues, X-ray contrast agents and other substances that are difficult to biodegrade.
