Our ALMA Neutra neutralization system was successfully commissioned and now ensures the automatic neutralization of alkaline wastewater. Industrial companies are often faced with the challenge of reliably adjusting their wastewater to the permitted pH value before it is discharged. The ALMA Neutra was designed for a maximum throughput capacity of 75 m³ per day and enables precise pH regulation and optimum utilization of the used acids.

Challenge: Safe and economical neutralization of wastewater
Many industrial processes produce alkaline wastewater that must be adjusted to a permissible pH value before being discharged into the wastewater network. The central requirement for the new neutralization system was to enable continuous, reliable and automated pH regulation that also takes into account the use of used acids as neutralization agents.
The system had to meet the following requirements:
✔ Compliance with the limit values for the pH value specified by the authorities
✔ Automatic pH control for constant process reliability
✔ Efficient use of used acids to reduce costs and conserve resources
✔ Easy handling for the operating personnel
✔ Compact and secure integration into the existing infrastructure

Technical implementation: ALMA Neutra
The alkaline wastewater is neutralized using the ALMA Neutra, a highly automated system with precise pH control and optimized dosing of used acids.
Technical specifications
🔹 Maximum treatment volume: 75 m³/d
🔹 Target pH value after neutralization: 6.5 - 8.5
🔹 Optimized acid dosing for maximum efficiency
🔹 Uniform mixing to avoid local pH fluctuations
Automated neutralization with used acids
The ALMA Neutra has been equipped with state-of-the-art control and dosing technology to ensure precise and resource-saving neutralization. The core components of the system include:
Reaction loop with static mixer to ensure homogeneous neutralization
IBC dosing station for used acids, which enables safe and precise feeding
✔ Automatic control with pH measurement, which ensures continuous control of the neutralization process
✔ Process-optimized dosing to enable maximum use of the used acids
Compact integration in the ALMA module - technology container
The entire neutralization system was integrated into the ALMA module, a specially developed technical room container. This compact solution offers:
✔ S pace-saving design with pre-installed technology
✔ Switchgear and control technology that enables fully automatic control
✔ Integrated safety devices for monitoring processes and chemicals
✔ Roller shutter for quick and safe replacement of IBC containers
The on-site stacking containers for the temporary storage of waste water are positioned separately outside the module.
