A water-carrying system always poses a potential risk in terms of microbiological growth. Naturally occurring microorganisms always enter the system in varying quantities/concentrations, depending on the water source (e.g. drinking, well or river water), when the water circuits are filled. Under optimal conditions and a high nutrient supply, the microorganisms begin to multiply exponentially and build up a biofilm. A biofilm mainly leads to a reduction in heat transfer and thus to an insufficient cooling or heating capacity of the system. Other serious and detrimental consequences are clogged pipelines as well as locally microbiologically indicated corrosion. In addition to higher energy costs and system damage, over time the system even comes to a standstill and production stops.
The correct use of products from the ALMACID series inhibits microbiological growth and the formation of a biofilm. Existing biofilms can also be eliminated with the products. Through comprehensive analysis, we find a solution together with the customer!
